The Olympic Stadium roof in Montreal is set to be taken down this summer. An international competition is looking for creative and innovative ideas on how to recycle the materials from the roof. These include cables, membranes, and connectors that make up the structure. The aim is to gather environmentally-friendly and cost-effective suggestions. Once submissions are received, the public in Quebec will have a chance to vote for their favorite projects. The competition aligns with sustainable development goals and aims to give the roof a second life. The roof's materials cover a vast area and extend over tens of kilometers. The dismantling process is scheduled for the summer of 2024. Participants can learn more about the competition and submit their ideas before the deadlines in May and June 2024. Prizes for winning submissions range from $5,000 to $15,000.
